Penzance BID Ballot Result

The ballot for the Penzance BID was successful with 77% of votes being in favour of the establishment of a BID and 23% against.   There were 224 votes cast representing 56% of the 'electorate'.  There were 5 spoilt/incomplete ballot papers.

The votes in favour of the BID represented 71% of the rateable value of those that voted.

The result is an unambiguous endorsement of the Penzance BID proposal.

  1. It's not unambiguous - it's a downright massage of the figures!! as usual by PenzanceBID - 77% of businesses that actually voted, voted for the BID....NOT 77% of all businesses. Just over half voted - the non voters basically voting YES to having their money extorted from them for the benefit of self serving BID directors - BOO to Penzance BID! VOTE IT OUT!

  2. You mis-read my post - I said "77% of votes" not 77% of businesses. 77% of a 56% turnout equals 43.1%. The BREXIT vote was 37.5% of the electorate (17.4 million out of 46.5 million electorate). I suspect BREXIT will cost you more than the BID levy.
