Free Parking days agreed for Penzance Xmas Shoppers

Early application of Sainsbury's Section 106 funds to provide Free parking all day on Saturdays and on Thursday evenings in Penzance in the run up to Christmas has been agreed following an initiative by the Chamber, local Cornwall Councillors and Penzance Town Council.



The cost of approximately £21,150 comes out of the £152,000 allocated for free and subsidized parking funded by the Sainsburys Section 106 agreement. The Chamber is grateful to Cornwall Council officers Guy Thomas (Town Centre Management), Andy England (Planning) and Kate Dixon (Parking) for making this happen quickly.

Free parking in all Town Centre public car parks has been agreed for Saturday 30 Nov (Christmas Lights Switch On event) and for the three following Saturdays in the run up to Christmas (7th, 14th and 21st Dec).

Free parking has also been agreed for late night shopping on the three Thursday evening from 4.00 pm (Thursday 5th , 12th and 19th December).
